The TRUST-PV Risk Matrix includes failures in PV systems, the appearance of degradation modes, defects, performance losses or also inspection or maintenance activities. The idea behind the creation of a risk matrix is to standardize appearing issues in the field, as to make them fast and efficiently comparable. Eight components have been identified for subdividing possible issues in PV systems, namely system, grid, transformer, the weather station together with communication & monitoring issues, inverter, module, interconnection and mounting structure related issues. Each component has a number of sub-components in order to account for events on a higher level and each event has a unique ID so that it can be easily identified with its correlating component and sub-component. Overall, 341 issues have been identified.
